Floor Exercises – Lose Weight At Home

Many people do not like the idea of going to  a gym or simply do not have one nearby. In this case you may like to work out at home and one of the simplest ways to do this is to make use of floor exercises to lose weight and burn more calories. It is important that you are careful when doing this as you do not want to cause any injuries.

You will be safest by picking up a fitness mat that will give you a comfortable but solid base on which to exercise. They are very cheap but much better than using a solid or carpeted floor. Also make sure you have enough space to spread out without worrying about anything in your vicinity.

Crunches are perfect for working out on the floor and can help you get a firm stomach. There are different types of crunches which focus on different areas of the abdominal muscles. The standard crunch will be where you lie down with knees bent, then bring your upper back up so you feel tension in your abs. If you have not done this before you may not be able to do too many but this should improve over time.

Press ups are great as floor exercises but not appropriate for everyone. This will work to build your upper body strength but do not worry about developing a muscular physique…they can also be great just for toning purposes.

One of the best uses of floor training is to stretch. Stretching can be very helpful in giving you a nice posture and supple body. You should aim to add some stretching into your workout regime if you are not already doing it as it is a great overall body workout. It need not be too strenuous but you should notice the difference. You may also want to try some yoga or pilates too help with your physique.

These are just a few of the many exercises you can do from home using a floor area which can help you with weight loss and get an improved body. If you cannot get to a gym you must not let that stop you as there are countless ways to improve your body from your own home.
