Wedding Season Is Here!

No summer is complete without weddings. Although modern life dictates that more and more people have weddings all year round, summer is still the season I associate with RSVPs, gift lists and new outfits.

Oh, how I used to stress over wedding invitations, hoping I had enough notice to find a nice dress and find a diet that would still allow me to wear it when the moment came. And that’s just as a guest!

These days it doesn’t matter whether you’re the bride, groom or a distant relative- almost everyone feels the pressure to look their best for a wedding. There are photographs to be taken and maybe even friends you haven’t seen for the longest time. It’s enough to drive anyone to distraction.

So, why do so many of us reach for the latest fad diet or fashionable workout routine, only to lose steam before the wedding. Haven’t we learned, by the time we get to the regular wedding stage of life, that these things never work?

wedding weight lossI know I wasted incredible amounts of time flitting between every program under the sun, whether it was from a celebrity dieter or a fitness guru. So often, they seem to be built around a gimmick that you know you’ll get bored of prior to the next wedding.

So, If Fads Don’t Work…

If you want to burn fat and keep it off you need to do things right, and while I know you want it in time for the wedding, the temporary health kick has got to go. You need to switch to a healthy way of life if you want to succeed. Get this right and every wedding you attend, even your grandchildren’s, will be an exercise in body confident fabulousness.

It’s super simple when you break it down- workouts need to be resistance based, so that your muscles are lean but develop real fat burning power. Your food needs to be balanced so your body gets everything it needs and avoids boredom. And the final step, simply ensure that you rest and recover correctly between your exercises.

Following this formula doesn’t mean a life spent in the gym either. Many people following the healthy lifestyle don’t even need the expense of gyms. You can do the necessary exercise at home, quickly and safely, with minimal equipment.

You’ll feel better, whether you’re at home or at a wedding and there’s few things more stress busting than a world in which you look after your body, rather than punishing it with diets, before bingeing in between cycles- purely out of frustration.
